Rivers will be slow to fall in the coming days.  There will continue to be pressure on the levee systems.  This is, of course, a concern.

.
Here is the Paducah Hydrograph (basically just a graph showing the current stage and the forecast stage) - you can see on this graph that the river will stay high for quite some time.
.

.
Temperatures will be on the rise early next week - this combined with more humidity will cause uncomfortable outdoor conditions.

A flood warning continues for our area - see the detailed information on watches and warnings by clicking here...

Showers will come to an end (area of showers pushing through the area from 7 pm Thursday into the early AM hours on Friday).  Otherwise - clouds will clear out and temperatures will warm into the upper 60s to near 70 degrees.  Another chance for showers will arrive on Saturday.

Continued flooding.  Concern will increase with each passing day that the strain on levees could cause some to break.  Be prepared for flash flooding in the event of a levee breach.  Have life jackets and other emergency supplies ready for immediate deployment in the event of a breach.

Chance for showers will return on Saturday - rainfall totals will be less than 0.40".  Warmer conditions next week combined with higher humidity will cause uncomfortable outdoor conditions.

Snake bites - a number of people have reported snakes escaping the flood waters and moving into areas they are normally not seen.

1.
An unsettled weather pattern next week.  A chance for some thunderstorms on Sunday night and Monday morning and again on Tuesday.  Then we will watch a cold front later next week - some of the storms could be severe.
.
2.  Temperatures and dew points will be on the rise next week with highs likely in the 80s and dew points in the 60s and 70s.  It will, at times, feel muggy next week.
.
3.  With the more humid conditions developing next week we could see afternoon showers and thunderstorms form (typical summer type pattern).  Timing of those storms is a bit in question right now - I will update daily on our chances for precipitation.  I believe our best shot at rain will come towards the end of next week.
