May 29, 2011: More calm than active! Warmer

Sunday, May 29, 2011
.
HEADLINE:  More calm than active - much warmer!  Windy on area lakes. Use caution.
.
Dry weekend continues for most of the region - a few showers and thunderstorms impacted our far northern counties on Saturday afternoon and evening - even a few severe storms just to our north.  But, for our region - calm.  I don't think anyone will complain about calm weather - not after the last few months.
.
It does appear warmer than normal weather will continue into the near term.  The long range may bring more below normal temperatures - but not before several above normal days.  Several prominent meteorologists are calling for a cool summer - more towards the end of June into August.  We will see how it goes.  I am not a fan of the heat and humidity and I know the farmers don't want another drought.
