No concerns today - there may still be a few flooded roadways from the recent heavy rainfall.

Rain - rain - rain - lots of rain. Rainfall totals ranged from 1/2-4" over the region since yesterday afternoon. The heaviest band of rain set up over portions of Calloway County, Kentucky and then southwest and northeast of that area. Some flash flooding was reported. Numerous roads were covered in water. .
I recorded over 1.50" of rain here at the Weather Observatory in Massac County, Illinois.
There were a few areas of severe thunderstorms on Monday - mostly to our north and south/southeast. Thankfully our area was spared the most intense storms.
The orange dots are wind - the blue dots are hail - the green dots are flood reports. This map was as of 9 pm on Monday night - I am sure a few more reports will have occurred further east into Alabama and Georgia as last night wore on.
.
Here are radar indicated rainfall totals (this image was as of 9 pm last night - Monday night) - and it was still raining! Note the band of heavier rain near Kentucky Lake. Not entirely unexpected as the data indicated there might be a band of heavy rain set up in that area.
Click the image for full size and better resolution. This is the Paducah, KY NWS Radar area - that is why it makes a circle. That is as far out as their radar will go.
---
And here is a close up image that I took this evening - centered on Murray, KY - the scale is on the left hand side. These are rainfall totals.
That storm system will move away by Tuesday morning - leaving us with dry conditions and a bit cooler weather.
---
The next storm system will arrive on Thursday and Friday. Additional heavy rainfall is certainly possible with the next system. Rainfall totals may exceed 1-2 inches. The threat for strong storms can't be ruled out. Not ready to make a call on severe storms - just yet.
