September 2, 2011: A HOT Friday on tap for the region!

September 2, 2011

Don't look now but the heat is back - for at least today.  Temperatures will climb into the middle and upper 90s - yes upper 90s.  A bit hot for the second day of September.  HOWEVER - the good news is that a strong cold front is approaching from the north and west - this will bring some relief as we move into next week.
 .
Along and ahead of the front there will be some showers and thunderstorms - mainly on Saturday into Sunday night - with the focus (right now at least) being on Sunday.  Isolated heavy storm can't be ruled out.  Widespread severe weather is not anticipated.
.
Much cooler air will arrive for next week.
.
The new six to ten day outlook indicates below normal temperatures.  You can view that graphic by clicking here.
