September 13, 2011:
.
It appears our best shot at widespread rainfall will develop on Wednesday afternoon and evening across our region. A cold front will approach from the north and west and combine with an area of low pressure over the Arkansas and Tennessee region. This will spark an area of showers and thunderstorms for our region.
.
It appears that a few pockets of heavy rain will be possible with this system. Rainfall totals in some counties could approach 1" - locally higher. The model data indicates the most likely area to experience the heavy rain will be over southeast Missouri and southern Illinois. Lesser amounts as you move south in our region.
No widespread severe weather is anticipated.
