12 PM Update

Live Winter Weather Radar
http://weatherobservatory.com/weather-radar.htm

Well - a snow system that finally behaved as forecast.  Shocking!

Seems like it is difficult to get snow to do as forecast around this region.  Appears 1-3" fell over southern Illinois and 1/2-1 1/2" over west Kentucky.  Still waiting to see some reports.  I picked up 1/2-1" in Massac County.

COLD tonight and COLD into tomorrow and tomorrow night - would not be surprised to see some single digits over the next 48 hours.

Next system is coming for the late weekend period - could be a mix.  I need to look at all the data and information still.

Have a safe day

Beau

Brief update for today - no real changes in forecast - will take a look at everything early this morning.  See previous posts for snowfall forecast totals.  Light event ongoing - check radar below for up to the minute radar views and see how the snow is progressing through the area.

Possible January thaw later next week into the end of the month.  Still plenty of cold weather to go this winter - but perhaps a break.  We will keep an eye on the prospects for a thaw and will update accordingly.

Also there could be some sort of precipitation event (could be a mixed bag) later this weekend into next week - stay tuned.
