Bottom line it for me Beau...

For southern Illinois and far western Kentucky...

Severe or extreme weather risk for today, tonight, and tomorrow:  0%

Fire departments continue to ask everyone to please not burn brush or debris.

Clouds this morning - some rain/snow showers (nice job by the Paducah NWS on the snowflakes - they had included them in their forecast since yesterday) over our eastern counties.  Periods of sun by late morning and sun this afternoon.  It will be chilly and windy.  High temperatures only in the upper 40s to near 50 degrees.  Winds will be gusty out of the north/northwest at 10-20 mph this morning and then 5-15 mph this afternoon.

Cold tonight - a hard freeze.  Low temperatures in the lower to middle 20s.

Saturday and Sunday will be mostly sunny - highs in the 50s on Sunday and in the 60s on Sunday.

Barometer reading this morning is in the 30.00-30.10" range.  Last 24 hours of data - click here.

I have been forecasting a more active pattern as we move into the middle and end of November - that has been my thinking since September.  I am still forecasting that to occur.  As always, this time of the year, we could have strong storms.  Depending on the storm track.  It is normal and to be expected.  A storm tracking to our north of over our region will normally bring a risk of thunderstorms.  If the storm tracks further south and we end up on the cold side of the storm then rain is more likely.  Too early to make that determination.

Here is what the GFS is showing for late next week.  Plenty of time to keep an eye on this system.

A roller-coaster pattern the next few days.  Check out tonight's low temperatures and then look at the image below that one - for Monday afternoon.  Cold to warm!

There are also hints of a major storm in the central United States after the 20th of November.  Long way off - but I will be monitoring trends.
