Today's weather map:

Welcome to November!  Wow - can you believe it?  This year is flying by?  Zoom zoom is all I can say.

My friend, David Brown, sent me this photo on Sunday.  It is snowing in southern Ontario!  Can winter be far behind for other areas?

For those interested, coming up tomorrow I will have your October review - a look back at how far above normal we were in temperatures and how far below normal we were in rainfall.  There is one month left in the fall forecast - November.  I will also have the latest one month outlook.

I hope everyone enjoyed the Halloween weekend weather?  It was stunning.  What else can you say?  :)

Today will bring an increase in clouds as a storm system develops to our south.  I believe most of the precipitation over the next 48 hours will remain to our south.  A few stray showers could work there way into Tennessee and close to the Tennessee border.  Also areas way east/southeast of western Kentucky could be impacted by some precipitation.

Burn bans remain in effect for many areas.  Please don't burn brush or grass/debris.

Otherwise - a rather uneventful few days ahead for our local region.  Cool weather will prevail.  Colder air will also return later this week and coming weekend.  A storm in the Gulf of Mexico will strengthen and move up the east coast.  This will help draw down cold air into our region.  I would not be surprised to hear of some snow flurries or light snow all the way into the Ohio Valley - east and northeast of our local area.

A look at how this coming weekends map will shape up. You can see the push of colder air into our region.  This image was made by the St Louis, National Weather Service Office.

Let's take a look at how many degrees below normal the temperature is expected to be for this coming Friday.  You can see the blue colors in our region - that means below normal.  Highs will likely be in the 50s with lows in the 30s/20s on Friday and Saturday.   I think we can handle that.

This image is from www.wright-weather.com - temperature departure map.  Also note that when temperatures are below normal in the central and eastern United States that temperatures are normally above normal out west.

The next significant system that I am watching could impact the region around November 9th-14th.  Still a long way off.

For those tracking Tomas - this system is turning north and will then move northeast.  Click here.

As always you can find me on Facebook and Twitter.

Barometer readings for this morning - they are in the 30.15-30.25" range.  They will be falling over the next 24 hours.  I have had a few people ask me to post the daily readings.  You can also view the hour by hour pressure rises/falls by clicking here.

Have a WONDERFUL week!
