March 19, 2011: A bit cooler Saturday - warmer Sunday

Saturday, March 19, 2011

---
Welcome to the weekend, everyone!  There will be a mix of sun and clouds this weekend - Saturday will be a bit cooler than recent days (but hey - it is March - let's not complain too much).  Sunday will be warmer!
---
---
I am watching a system for the middle of the week - then a stronger system towards next weekend.  Can't rule out some strong or severe storms with those two systems.  Stay tuned for updates.

Scattered rain showers behind a cold front will push through the region early Saturday morning - earlly AM hours.  Then the front will linger near the area.   Can't rule out a few more showers along the frontal system into Saturday night.  So - keep that in mind.

Let's take a look at the regional high temperatures for Saturday and Sunday - check out our new graphics for the Weather Observatory site (still a few days to go before they are available on the site)

Let's take a quick look at the official six to ten day outlook for temperatures - you can see we are caught in between the above normal temperatures and the below normal temperatures.  That most likely means we will have a mix between the two.  Some cool days and some warm days.  Not bad - for March.  Graphic below - click for larger view -
