October 10, 2010:
Another dry day on tap for the region - still watching a storm system for around October 18th-24th. Otherwise - just some small rain chances this week. Nothing major. Normal to above normal temperatures expected for the next 6-8 day period. We may then return to a mix of above normal to below normal temperatures (after the 18th). Nothing out of the usual - temperatures are usually a roller coaster during the fall months. Some warm days followed by chillier temperatures - then warm back up again.
Speaking of above normal temperatures - highs today will be in the upper 80s to near 90. Quite a difference from a few days ago.
Paula is forming in the Caribbean. This soon to be tropical storm will push northward over the coming week. It could threaten portions of the Gulf of Mexico over to Florida/Cuba. Will have to keep an eye on this system and see where it tracks. One set of data indicates it could even make a loop in the Caribbean. Too tough to call this far out - and it has yet to fully develop. Stay tuned.
Here is a map from http://www.wright-weather.com/ - it shows just how much above normal temperatures are expected to be today.
