I am attending the Kentucky Weather Workshop 2010 in Bowling Green.  So a short update this morning.  Read the last few days to get a better idea of how I see Thanksgiving week unfolds.  If clouds conditions change today - the clouds hang around longer - I won't be able to update!  But - not a big deal.

I am still expecting an active pattern - to continue.  More rain chances arrive Monday night into Wednesday.  There is a small risk for stronger storms around the Tuesday time frame.  Also some locally moderate rainfall - perhaps heavy in spots - will occur over our region.  The front will stick around our region with several waves of low pressure moving along it.  This will cause periods of rain and thunderstorms.  This is great news.  Still a few days out - but I have been bullish on this system for about seven days now.  I still am.

Rainfall totals will likely be between 1/2 - 1" across almost our entire region - especially the central and southeastern part of the region between Monday night and Wednesday night.  I will fine tune these amounts as the event draws a bit closer.  Again, this is great news.

Here is the official 5 day rainfall - this is from HPC.

Otherwise - not really sold on a big event for Thanksgiving (but stay tuned - because that particular forecast is the one I am the most uncertain on - I expect changes).  There are differing opinions on this subject.  So, we will just keep an eye on how things develop.  What I have been sold on is a colder air mass for Thanksgiving or Thanksgiving night and the days following Thanksgiving.  We will likely be in the 60s on Wednesday and fall into the 30s or lower for the holiday weekend!  Roller coaster pattern?  :)

It appears Black Friday will be dry - Saturday, as well.  If you are going to travel then keep an eye on travel conditions to our north and northeast.  Some colder air up that way - Chicago over through the Great Lakes and into the northeast.  Could cause some travel headaches.

We will watch another storm for the Monday or Tuesday following Thanksgiving.

Typical November weather!!!!  No shocking surprises.

Again, I am at the Kentucky Weather Conference and so there will not be any graphics today.

Have a wonderful Friday!!!!
