This forecast analysis covers far southern Illinois, southeast Missouri, southwest Indiana, western  Kentucky, and northwest Tennessee

HEADLINES:  The next couple of days will bring calm weather to our local region.  A winter storm will pass well to our south and east on Thursday and Thursday night (snow likely over portions of southeast Kentucky and eastern Tennessee).

For our local region there might be a few high clouds on Thursday.

A brief warm up will occur on Friday and Saturday ahead of a strong cold front.  The cold front will usher in colder air for Sunday into the middle of next week.

The coldest night will likely be Monday night with temperatures down into the teens over most of our region.  I can't rule out some upper single digits over our northern counties.

I do not see any significant chances for snow or rain over the coming days.  Sorry snow lovers.   I also don't see any significant rain or thunderstorms over the coming days.

If you are a weather enthusiast then I recommend listening to WeatherBrains each week!  For a more in-depth look at what is happening in meteorology.

Now is a GREAT time to buy a NOAA All Hazards Weather Radio.  Better to have one before storms strike than to be without one during an event.  I recommend the Midland Model 300 NOAA All Hazards Weather Radio - that is what I use here at my house!
