Here are my current personal forecast thoughts for far southern Illinois and western Kentucky...

Monday:  Rain likely - a few rumbles of thunder.
Below normal temperatures
Highs: in the lower 70s  |  Normal highs for this time of the year are around 81 degrees.
Wind: Southeast winds at 5-10 mph
Precipitation probability - 90% | Rainfall totals:
  0.25" - western counties and up to an inch in southern and southeast counties
Confidence in this forecast is very high

Monday night:  Cloudy with some showers likely - perhaps a rumble of thunder - fog possible early - winds picking up after 2 am
Below normal temperatures
Lows: in the middle 50s |  Normal lows for this time of the year are around 59 degrees.
Wind: North winds at 10-15 mph 
Precipitation probability - 60%  | Rainfall totals: 0.10"-0.25" - pockets of heavier rain for eastern counties

Tuesday: Windy at times - mostly cloudy during the early morning hours - a chance for drizzle, fog, and a few showers.  Cooler and breezy - some clearing during the late morning and afternoon hours.
Below normal temperatures
Highs:  in the middle 60s  | Normal highs for this time of the year are around 81 degrees.
Wind: North winds at 10-20 mph with gusts above 30 mph 
Precipitation probability - 10%-30% |  Rainfall totals:  Trace to 0.15"

Below normal temperatures
Lows: in the 35-42 degree range  |  Normal lows for this time of the year are around 59 degrees.
Wind:  calm winds to north winds at 5 mph

This forecast analysis covers far southern Illinois, southeast Missouri, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and northwest Tennessee

HEADLINES: Rain will occur on Monday into Monday night.  Rainfall totals could be over 1" in some counties - this is especially true for our eastern counties.


Severe weather will not occur in our local counties.

Rain will come to an end late tonight (Monday night) and Tuesday morning.  It will turn breezy on Tuesday - anyone out on rivers and lakes should take note.  Winds could gust above 30 mph at times - from the north.

It will turn cooler/colder on Tuesday into Wednesday.  Patchy frost is likely on Tuesday night in some counties.  Overnight lows by Wednesday morning will dip into the 30s.



No major concerns - some wind on Tuesday - patchy frost Tuesday night



Boaters use caution on Tuesday - winds will be gusty out of the north
